How does Rejuvapen work?

Rejuvapen works in the following way –

  • It perforates the top layers of your skin vertically, at precise depths and spacing. These micro perforations are invisible to the eye but detected by your body’s repair systems.
  • Once detected the body shifts its natural repair systems up a gear and presses a turbo button. This promotes the production of collagen (for strength and structure) and elastin (skin elasticity) to repair the micro damage.

What are the results of treatment with Rejuvapen?

The stimulation of collagen and elastin production has a regenerative effect on many common skin concerns:

Improves the appearance of acne scarring by stimulating collagen and elastin to compensate deficiencies in scars formed due to acne damage

When can I expect to see results?

A single Rejuvapen treatment will yield results with the skin looking healthier immediately (after the redness from the treatment has resolved – see below). However, Rejuvapen is not a wonder treatment. If your skin has had a problem for some time, we cannot expect a single treatment to quick fix the issue –  a course is often required.

At your consultation our skin specialists will give you a more realistic timeline but for most people we recommend 5 sessions with the final results being seen at between 4 and 6 months.

What is the downtime with microneedling?

There will be redness much like sunburn and this will persist for 24-48 hrs, possibly even 72-96 hrs for more sensitive skin types.

There is necessarily some very light bleeding during the treatment. Bruising may also occur but this is very unusual at Amara.

You must wear an SPF and stay out of the sun following your treatment. Aftercare includes a serum containing copper peptides, which helps with the repair process.

You should be prepared to face some down time. Our skin health specialists will help you time your treatments accordingly to minimise the impact of this on your life.

Does medical microneedling hurt?

A topical anaesthetic is applied to the skin and allowed to take effect before the procedure to ensure comfort. Clients describe the sensation as similar to that of fine sandpaper being used against their skin.

Dr Mylene is fantastic..she really listens to your concerns and makes sure you get the best results possible. I have had quite a few Hydrafacials at different clinics in Dublin, and back home in Copenhagen as well, but this clinic is so far the best.The therapist was lovely and she just really knew what she was doing. She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed while guiding me through the treatment.I also had a lot of questions regarding skin care and products because I have had some problems with acne and she took her time to answer all my questions without making me feel pressured to buy the products she was recommending me, which is important to me.I found my visit to the clinic to be excellent. I love this clinic!! I have been going here for over 5 years and although it is a huge trek for me I won’t ever go anywhere else for my skincare. The doctors and staff are so friendly and helpful and I cannot stress this point enough. I am not the kind of girl that gets regular facials or would follow a strict 6 step nightly skin regime. In fact, I would normally find this type of place daunting because I often feel judgement for not “being better” with this stuff. At Amara I have never felt like this. Everyone there always makes me feel so comfortable and genuinely wants to help me feel the best I can. I haven’t yet mentioned the results which are always incredible from the few things I’ve had done there . An unusual but very important review....Amara was very highly recommended to me by a colleague. I purchased a €2,000 voucher from Amara for my wife as a 50th birthday present. Needless to say, she was ecstatic. Due to Covid 19 financial difficulties, we reluctantly decided not to utilise the voucher and to request a refund....6 months later. These are terribly difficult times for businesses, so I felt more than a little embarassed and not very hopeful. My first visit to Amara (it won't be the last!) was excellent. Paul has such an easy manner, I felt very comfortable and at ease immediately. Everything was explained in detail so I knew exactly what was being done and why. There was no pushy sales technique - if anything it is evident that they will only do work that will benefit you - you won't pay for unnecessary treatments and any treatments you do have will be done with an emphasis on looking natural rather than 'done'. I had my first hyrdafacial treatment here, and loved it so much I’ve already booked another! The treatment itself is amazing, my skin was left feeling wonderful, and the benefits were noticeable straight away, and I my skin was noticeably soft and smooth for several weeks after the treatment. I would highly recommend Dr Paul Munsanje for tear trough filler. I'm so delighted with the results! I had become quite sunken and dark under the eyes, after one visit there was an immediate and significant improvement. I no longer look tired all the time and don't need anymore concealer. There was a small amount of bruising for a few days afterwards but nothing that makeup couldn't hide. A real natural look - happy days!!

Had an amazing hydrafacial from Siobhan yesterday. She’s meticulous in her work and incredibly good at breaking down the science of skin into simple terms so I understood exactly where my skin was at, what she was going to do to it, and what I could do going forward to improve it. As well as this she was a complete dote and easy to chat to. I felt really well looked after by herself and the front of house guys AND my skin looks incredible, I didn’t think skin could be this smooth. Highly recommend.

Absolutely recommend Amara and Dr Paul Munsanje for providing a truly professional and warm service with fantastic results. Was particularly impressed by a tear trough filler which was stunning in its immediate effect and virtually painless. Found Paul to be really experienced, informative and understanding, felt very comfortable having the procedures and also done easily on my lunch hour. Most importantly, he did exactly what I wanted but achieved a far better result than I was aware was possible, and made it seem so easy.. so very impressive. I feel it’s the best money I’ve spent in years, very very happy. Did try a different clinic a few years ago and didn’t find it very good but feel Amara is in a different league, will definitely go back to Amara. All of the clinic are just lovely and welcoming so I would also credit them with a great team in-house. Well worth a visit.
