At Amara we can effectively address acne breakout of all forms
There are machine led treatments which will help bring acne under control. This section is dedicated solely to what the ZO Skin Health Range has to offer when it comes to treating annoying and unsightly breakouts.
What is Acne?
Acne is an inflammation based skin condition that affects roughly 85% of people at some point in their lives.
Genetics, hormone balance, lifestyle and diet contribute to acne ‘breakouts’. These are underlying influencers but ALL acne breakouts are the result of physical pore blockage.
Pores can be blocked by sebum (oil production) or by cellular debris from the skin renewal cycle.
Either congestion allows bacteria and sebum to build up in the pores, causing unsightly whiteheads, blackhead, pimples or cysts.

Acne and ZO Skin Health Products
The ZO Range has 6 powerful acne correcting products that can be used to address different acne concerns. Depending on the underlying cause of your breakout, our Skin Health Specialists will decide on the best product for you following an assessment.
Acne Issue | Product | Mode of Action |
Lack of Exfoliation | Enzymatic Peel | Enzyme and glycolic acid for increased chemical exfoliation to decrease pore blockages. |
Lack of Exfoliation | Exfoliating Accelerator | Glycolic and lactic acid mixed in high concentration for a more aggressive chemical exfoliation than Invisapeel to decrease pore blockages (extra exfoliation) |
Bacterial growth | Acne Control | Antibacterial acid that drys and peels the skin, unclogging pores. Also contains a hydrator to counter the drying effects of the benzoyl-peroxide agent. |
Breakout control | Sulfur Masque | This high concentration sulfur product treats and prevents acne, reduces sebum and calms irritation – especially designed to remove debris and keep pores clear. |
Which of these products is for me?
As with everything in the ZO Skin Health portfolio, each of the options is formulated to correct and address a specific acne symptom, with wider skin health and acne resolution in mind too. However, there will always be a best option for you and this is something our Skin Health Specialists will help decide for you at a consultation.
What else do I need to treat my acne?
The Fundamental 5 address the core principles around which good skin health is built. They are used to calibrate your skin cycle and make it more robust such that it is more resistant to outbreak. However, if you’re using one of the acne control products, you will likely not need to use all of the Fundamental 5. Your Skin Health Specialist will design your program and instruct you on how best to use it to get the results you need.
