Sunekos is a treatment used to correct dark circles under and around the eye area.
Like Profhilo, Sunekos is a non traditional cosmetic injectable that has effectively filled a gap in the treatment catalogue.
What makes Sunekos special is that it is not about volume or correcting a deficit like an under eye filler treatment might be. It is specifically formulated to provide the skin in the region with the building block it needs to improve structure. This in turn improves the quality of the very thin skin in the peri-orbital area and we see excellent results in terms of improving dark circles under the eyes.
Sunekos is popular among men and women alike as dark circles are a concern many people face. As such it is suitable for everyone concerned with this issue.
What is Sunekos?
Sunekos is a patented formulation of amino acids that gets made up in a solution of hyaluronic acid, one of the most used skin products around.
It is a non-traditional cosmetic injection that is used to treat issues not readily addressed by anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers.
It is used to greatly improve skin quality and structure and so improve the area without volumizing it.
How does Sunekos work?
Amino acids are the building blocks of the structural components of our skin and in particular our extra-cellular matrix (ECM).
The cocktail of amino acids in Sunekos are those specifically used to make collagen and elastin.
When injected, Sunkeos promotes fibroblast activity which induces your skin to produce more collagen and elastin – so it rejuvenates your skin from the inside out.

Can it be used in other places?
Quite simply, yes.
There are actually two formulations of Sunekos:
- Sunkeos 200 – lower molecular weight hyaluronic acid is used (more suited to slightly younger patients)
- Sunekos 1200 – medium molecular weight hyaluronic acid is used (if more structure is required)
Both formulations can be used for:
- Under Eye and Around Eyes
- Face
- Neck
- Hands
- Décolletage
- Arms
- Body
- Inner thighs
How many treatments will I need?
The clinical evidence suggests that while you will see improvements in a matter of days 3 or 4 staggered treatments, 7-10 days apart each are best.
This will vary slightly between patients but at consultation what our medic thinks based on their experience will be suggested to you and you can go from there.
Tell me about the treatment itself. What can I expect?
If you are suitable for treatment, we will mark up relevant injections sites around your eyes. The product will be reconstituted and a series of small injections will be performed at each site with a very fine and very short needle.
You will notice some raised bumps at the injection site where product has been placed. These will resolved very quickly as the product spreads out within the skin. As with any cosmetic injection, there is always a risk of bruising.
What benefits will I see from my Sunekos treatment?
After a Sunekos treatment, the product will get to work at regenerating your extra-cellular matrix and improving the skin from within. Fibroblasts will use the amino-acids to promote the production of collagen and elastin. As these structural components are regenerated you should see:
- Stronger, more elastic skin
- Improved skin texture
- A lessening of the dark circles under the eye as the skin improves
- All around improved skin quality in the area treated
Results, as with any cosmetic treatment, will vary from patient to patient as people respond differently to treatment.
